RavenQuest – Soulblade Build (Early / Late Game)

Soulblade Guide (Single Target, High Burst, Self-Sustain)
Ву Herath.
Many of you are new to the game, but I’ve been testing Ravendawn builds for a long time. Even though I’m not really focused on it anymore, I figured I’d share my favorite build with you in Ravenquest.
This is the Soulblade. It relies mostly on auto-attacks and life stealing. It can shield itself while bursting, doing serious damage as long as you can maintain contact with your enemies at melee range. It excels at leveling against single targets (it can easily dispatch many enemies, one at a time), has a low cooldown rate (usually 45 seconds between bursts, enough to clear at least 3 tanky mobs), and can tackle Aether Rifts (endgame PvP) with ease.
Skills & Cards
Warfare
- (+) Brutal Strike: Troll
- Shieldbreak: Skeleton Rotclub
- Bladestorm: Dwarf Warrior
- Pummel: Rargrum The Dread
- Spiked Chains: Ghaz Sandrider
- Berserk: Goblin Berserker
- Passives: Bloodseeker, Savagery, Bloodbath
Shadow
- (+) Shadowstrike: Hobgoblin
- Shadowbind: Skorn Deathblade
- Crippling Dagger: Brotherhood Tracker
- Venomous Weapons: Venomous Contraption
- (+) Death Blossom: Saltdusk Cutthroat
- Passives: Deadly Duelist, Killer Instinct, Cheap Shot
Spiritual
- Regenerate: Elf Druid*
- (+) Windstrike Spirit: Mysticap Mushroom
- (+) Haste: Goblin Tinker
- Air Aura: Runegust Jackal
- Passives: Celerity, The Cost of Restoration**
* Regenerate can be switched into Whirlwind for escaping nasty situations. Regenerate can be used for mana regeneration, but it’s mostly cosmetic and can be safely put out of your action bars.
** Don’t pick this until you have good health regeneration to support it.
Attributes
- Primary: Might > Vit > 100 Dex
- Secondary: Weapon Power > Health Regeneration > Precision > Haste
This build needs high attack speed to work. That means you should shoot for high haste with either dexterity or equipment stats. Might is your main attribute, but pair it with Vitality to make good use of The Cost of Restoration passive. Attempt to build a character with high Health Regeneration and then allocate your resources into Weapon Power.
Archetype Leveling
If you’re not yet at 50 skill points, prioritize leveling Warfare until you can pick Bloodbath and Bloodseeker, then level Shadow until Deadly Duelist, and finally Spiritual until Haste. You can level as you like afterwards.
Skill Leveling
Once at 50 skill points, start leveling your skills following the priority below:
- Brutal Strike > Windstrike Spirit > Haste > Shadowstrike > Death Blossom
Once you’re done leveling those, prioritize skills with high cooldowns, try coupling Haste and Venomous Weapons on the same cooldown timer.
Legacy Skills
Chaos Chains (Recommended)
- Explosive area damage with bleed and crowd control.
Reaper’s Eclipse (Not Recommended)
- Reaper’s Eclipse will stop you from auto attacking while it’s up, so we best avoid it entirely as it works better as a defensive option.
Rotation
- Single Target: Venomous Weapons > Berserk > Windstrike Spirit > Crippling Dagger > Shadowbind > Haste > Shieldbreak > Brutal Strike > Shadowstrike > Death Blossom
Blow up all your cooldowns, snare your enemy with Shadowbind to improve your critical damage, Shieldbreak to improve your auto attack damage and break defenses, maintain your target on Melee range and rotate between Brutal Strike and Shadowstrike for both damage and healing. Finish with Death Blossom once your target is at 20% life or lower so you can make the most damage with Killer Instinct.
Equipment
- Weapons: Daggers (critical damage) or Light Blade (CC escape)
- Armor: Plate (PvE) or Leather (PvP)
Plate is the best option for reducing damage on PvE, but Leather can achieve higher bursts on PvP combat. You can also choose Leather if you’re playing with a group and won’t need to tank enemies yourself.

FAQ
When do I stop putting points on Might?
Might is your main priority as long as you haven’t reached your Attack Power cap (yellow numbers). I’d suggest something around 150 Might / 80 Vit / 80 Dex as your starter, then invest around 250 Might and get back to investing points in Vit again.
You also mention using Stalk in the rotation, but you don’t take Stalk in your build?
Stalk and Crippling Dagger can be switched with one another. Crippling Dagger has better DPS and maneuverability in my opinion. I replaced Stalk mostly because I won’t be hitting it twice and accidentally teleport back, which would screw up my rotation.
Why Pummel instead of Feasting Strike with Polar Bear?
Honestly, you won’t need it, but you can take it if you want. Health Regeneration covers most of your HP needs in this build. I only really see Feasting Strike as a necessity when Box Farming. Pummel works great in PvP and can also help in PvE, and the purpose of this build is to kill before being killed.
Also, Windstrike Spirit serves the same purpose as Feasting Strike since it shields us for up to 50% with every Windstrike, which makes Feasting Strike unnecessary (we don’t take enough damage to need healing). Even if I were to take Feasting Strike here, I wouldn’t use Polar Bear because Windstrike is just as good at providing sustained defense.
But should you switch Windstrike’s card to Area Damage in PvE, you can safely switch from Pummel to Feasting Strike; this would be better done in group farming.
Here’s what Windstrike cards do:

As a final note, we’re also taking Wind Aura, which makes using Feasting Strike even weirder. Your HP Regen from The Cost of Restoration and the life leech from Bloodseeker should be more than enough to keep your HP up. In late-game content, your auto-attacks can hit as high as 2k, and you’ll always be healing 20% with each hit due to high haste.
But again, if you want to have the comfortable option of Feasting Strike over Pummel, go for it. It’s even safer, but I’d honestly prefer to have more damage and at least one interrupt since this build has been made with Aether Rifts in mind as well.
